McArdle's disease. Problems of anaesthetic management for Caesarean section.

A case is presented of the anaesthetic management of a patient with McArdle's disease who required Caesarean section. The pathology of the condition is considered together with the clinical features and treatment. The problems of anaesthesia in patients with this inherited disease are discussed with particular reference to the use of muscle relaxant drugs.
