Towards better delineation and complete excision of preauricular sinus.

Excision of preauricular sinus by conventional methods is prone to recurrences. The injection of methylene blue into the tract, followed by purse-string closure of its orifice three days prior to the operation, together with the addition of a posterior drain has resulted in only one recurrence out of the 34 sinuses excised. The cosmetic result is satisfactory.
