Value of cytological imprints in the diagnosis of atypical lipomatous tumor.

The diagnosis of atypical lipomatous tumor by biopsy, requires careful examination of several slides, in order to look for atypical cells. We suggest that imprints of lipomatous tumors may play a complementary role in such a search, and report a case of a 74-yr-old woman with an atypical lipomatous tumor of the left thigh, in which imprints helped to make the diagnosis..
