The 1,3-addition of 1,2-diaryl-1,2-dibromodiboranes (B2 Br2 Ar2 ) to trans -[W(N2 )2 (dppe)2 ] (dppe = κ2 -(Ph2 PCH2 )2 ), which is accompanied by a Br-Ar substituent exchange between the two boron atoms, is followed by a spontaneous rearrangement of the resulting tungsten diboranyldiazenido complex to a 2-aza-1,3-diboraallenylimido complex displaying a linear, cumulenic B=N=B moiety. This rearrangement involves the splitting of both the B-B and N=N bonds of the N2 B2 ligand, formal insertion of a BAr boranediyl moiety into the N=N bond, and coordination of the remaining BArBr boryl moiety to the terminal nitrogen atom...

Heat shock proteins (HSPs) play key roles in controlling the morphological transformation of germ cells during spermatogenesis and posttesticular maturation of sperm. This study aims to reveal the presence and localization patterns of large adenosine triphosphate (ATP)-dependent HSPs family members in adult domestic cat testis and excurrent ducts utilizing Western blot, immunohistochemistry, and immunofluorescence techniques. The results indicated that the relative amounts of heat shock protein D1 (HSPD1)/HSP60, heat shock protein C (HSPC)/HSP90, and heat shock protein H (HSPH)/HSP105/110 were highest in the testis, while heat shock protein A (HSPA)/HSP70 was highest in the corpus epididymis...

BACKGROUND: The treatment of shoulder osteoarthritis in the young patient remains challenging. The higher functional demands and higher expectations of the young patient cohort are often coupled with increased failure and revision rates. Consequently, shoulder surgeons are faced with a unique challenge with implant selection. The aim of this study was to compare the survivorship and reasons for revision of 5 classes of shoulder arthroplasty in patients aged <55 years with a primary diagnosis of osteoarthritis by use of data from a large national arthroplasty registry...

Cells employ a well-preserved physiological stress response mechanism, termed the heat shock response, to activate a certain type of molecular chaperone called heat shock proteins (HSPs). HSPs are activated by transcriptional activators of heat shock genes known as heat shock factors (HSFs). These molecular chaperones are categorized as the HSP70 superfamily, which includes HSPA (HSP70) and HSPH (HSP110) families; the DNAJ (HSP40) family; the HSPB family (small heat shock proteins (sHSPs)); chaperonins and chaperonin-like proteins; and other heat-inducible protein families...

Ferroptosis is a new form of regulatory cell death named by Dixon in 2012, which is characterized by the accumulation of lipid peroxides and iron ions. Molecular chaperones are a class of evolutionarily conserved proteins in the cytoplasm. They recognize and bind incompletely folded or assembled proteins to help them fold, transport or prevent their aggregation, but they themselves do not participate in the formation of final products. As the largest number of molecular chaperones, heat shock proteins can be divided into five families: HSP110 (HSPH), HSP90 (HSPC), HSP70 (HSPA), HSP40 (DNAJ) and small heat shock proteins (HSPB)...

Heat shock proteins (HSP) are significant regulators of cell proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis. HSP participate in ovarian physiology through proliferative and apoptotic mechanisms and the modulation of sex steroid receptor functions. We investigated whether the expression and localisation patterns of HSP in the domestic cat ovary vary with the oestrous cycle stage. Immunohistochemical analysis revealed cell type-specific localisation patterns of HSPD1/HSP60, HSPA/HSP70, HSPC/HSP90 and HSPH/HSP105 in several ovarian cells of the domestic cat, including oocytes, follicular (granulosa and theca cells) and luteal cells, stromal and thecal interstitial cells, stromal cells, and vascular endothelial and smooth muscle cells during the anoestrous, follicular and luteal phases of the oestrous cycle...

The prototypical iron(0) complex [Fe(CO)3(PMe3)2] (1) forms a frustrated Lewis pair (FLP) with B(C6F5)3 (BCF). In this FLP, the iron complex acts as the Lewis base partner, and the borane as the Lewis acid partner. This FLP is able to cleave H-H, H-Cl, H-O and H-S bonds in H2, HCl, H2O and HSPh. The FLP 1/BCF is shown to catalyze the hydrogenation of alkenes under mild conditions, where terminal alkenes are preferentially reduced. Mechanistic studies using D2 gas suggest that a branched intermediate in an alkene insertion cycle or an ionic cycle is favored for this catalytic reaction...

The first goal of the United Nations' 90-90-90 HIV/AIDS elimination strategy is to ensure that, by 2020, 90% of HIV-positive people know their HIV status. Estimating the prevalence of HIV among people eligible for screening allows assessment of the number of additional cases that might be diagnosed through continued screening efforts in this group. Here, we present methods for estimating prevalence when HIV status is verified by a gold standard only among those who test positive on an initial, imperfect screening test with known sensitivity and specificity...
