Vascular compression syndromes are a diverse group of pathologies that can manifest asymptomatically and incidentally in otherwise healthy individuals or symptomatically with a spectrum of presentations. Due to their relative rarity, these syndromes are often poorly understood and overlooked. Early identification of these syndromes can have a significant impact on subsequent clinical management. This pictorial review provides a concise summary of seven vascular compression syndromes within the abdomen and pelvis including median arcuate ligament (MAL) syndrome, superior mesenteric artery (SMA) syndrome, nutcracker syndrome (NCS), May-Thurner syndrome (MTS), ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO), vascular compression of the ureter, and portal biliopathy...

INTRODUCTION: Current guidelines for double contrast barium esophagography studies (BAS) suggest that patients should be nil per os (NPO) prior to completing BAS for optimal esophageal coating, although the time required varies between practices and institutions. It is believed that consumption of food or water disrupts the ability for thick barium contrast to properly coat the esophageal mucosa. Exams that are rescheduled for this reason can lead to delays in care, without substantial evidence that NPO status truly affects esophageal mucosal coating for these exams with current barium mixtures...

Charge transport nonlinearities in semiconductor quantum dots and nanorods are studied. Using a density matrix formalism, we retrieve the field-dependent nonlinear mobility and show the possibility of intra-pulse gain. We further demonstrate that the dynamics of master equations can be captured in an analytical formula for the field-dependent charge carrier mobility, e.g. for two-level systems. This equation extends the linear response theory based Kubo-Greenwood result to nonlinear processes at elevated field strength, easily reached in THz transport spectroscopy...

Polatuzumab Vedotin (Pola-V) is an antibody-drug conjugate directed to the CD79B subunit of the B cell receptor (BCR). When combined with conventional immunochemotherapy, Pola-V improves outcomes in DLBCL. To identify determinants of Pola-V sensitivity, we used CRISPR-Cas9 screening for genes that modulated Pola-V toxicity for lymphomas or the surface expression of its target, CD79B. Our results reveal the striking impact of CD79B glycosylation on Pola-V epitope availability on the lymphoma cell surface and on Pola-V toxicity...

In the pursuit of precise diagnostics for measuring negative ion density in a helicon plasma source (HPS), a new approach utilizing a radio frequency (RF) broadband transformer-based Langmuir probe is developed specifically for laser photo-detachment (LPD) analysis. This inductively coupled LPD technique is useful for high power RF systems in which capacitive RF noise is in the same scale as the pulsed photo-detachment signal. The signal acquired by this transformer-based probe is compared against the conventional Langmuir probe-based LPD technique, revealing a remarkable enhancement in signal fidelity through an improved signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) achieved by the RF broadband transformer methodology...

We present the first experimental study of plasmoid formation in a magnetic reconnection layer undergoing rapid radiative cooling, a regime relevant to extreme astrophysical plasmas. Two exploding aluminum wire arrays, driven by the Z machine, generate a reconnection layer (S_{L}≈120) in which the cooling rate far exceeds the hydrodynamic transit rate (τ_{hydro}/τ_{cool}>100). The reconnection layer generates a transient burst of >1  keV x-ray emission, consistent with the formation and subsequent rapid cooling of the layer...

Using a sample of (10087±44)×10^{6}  J/ψ events, which is about 45 times larger than that was previously analyzed, a further investigation on the J/ψ→γ3(π^{+}π^{-}) decay is performed. A significant distortion at 1.84  GeV/c^{2} in the line shape of the 3(π^{+}π^{-}) invariant mass spectrum is observed for the first time, which could be resolved by two overlapping resonant structures, X(1840) and X(1880). The new state X(1880) is observed with a statistical significance larger than 10σ...

The first complete measurement of the β-decay strength distribution of _{17}^{45}Cl_{28} was performed at the Facility for Rare Isotope Beams (FRIB) with the FRIB Decay Station Initiator during the second FRIB experiment. The measurement involved the detection of neutrons and γ rays in two focal planes of the FRIB Decay Station Initiator in a single experiment for the first time. This enabled an analytical consistency in extracting the β-decay strength distribution over the large range of excitation energies, including neutron unbound states...

Electromagnetic turbulence and ion kinetics in counterstreaming plasmas hold great significance in laboratory astrophysics, such as turbulence field amplification and particle energization. Here, we quantitatively demonstrate for the first time how electromagnetic turbulence affects ion kinetics under achievable laboratory conditions (millimeter-scale interpenetrating plasmas with initial velocity of 2000  km/s, density of 4×10^{19}  cm^{-3}, and temperature of 100 eV) utilizing a recently developed high-order implicit particle-in-cell code without scaling transformation...
