For the first time, CaV6O16·3H2O (CVO), synthesized via a highly efficient and fast microwave reaction, is used as a cathode material for aqueous zinc-ion batteries. Ex situ X-ray diffraction confirms the structure of this material to be stable upon reversible Zn2+ intercalation, due to its large interlayer distance (8.08 Å). The pillaring effect of calcium makes the as-prepared CVO an excellent Zn2+ cation host.

Bosutinib, a BCR-ABL1 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI), has been available for several years as a treatment for chronic-, accelerated-, and blast-phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), for patients with resistance or intolerance to prior therapy. In 2017, the BFORE trial demonstrated efficacy of bosutinib as first-line treatment in adult patients with newly diagnosed chronic-phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CP-CML). Palladium-catalyzed oxidation of isopropyl N-acetyl--D-glucosamine (GlcNAc) is used to prepare the rare sugars allosamine, lividosamine, and related compounds with unprecedented selectivity. This study reports the onset of a choroidal neovascularization (CNV) in a young patient affected with Best macular dystrophy (BMD) using optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and describes its changes after photodynamic therapy (PDT). In the patient's right eye (OD), OCTA scans demonstrated a large, tangled, and well-demarcated vascular network at the outer retinal (OR) and choriocapillaris (CC) layers. In T lymphocytes, the Wiskott-Aldrich Syndrome protein (WASP) and WASP-interacting-protein (WIP) regulate T cell antigen receptor (TCR) signaling, but their role in lymphoma is largely unknown. We describe the utilization of bis-isopropylidene-protected d-fructose-derived aldehyde in the Passerini reaction with various acids and isocyanides. A library of densely functionalized glycomimetics bearing up to 3 carbohydrate units was obtained in high yields and diastereoselectivities. The configuration of the newly formed stereocenter was determined and the diastereoselectivity was rationalized by DFT calculations.
