Colorectal cancer, with the liver being the most common site of distant metastasis, followed by the lungs and bones. Although reports of metastasis to the testis exist, paratesticular metastasis is extremely rare. A 37-year-old male presented with scrotal swelling. Ultrasound revealed hydrocele of the tunica vaginalis. The patient underwent routine surgical treatment, and postoperative pathology of the tunica vaginalis indicated adenocarcinoma of gastrointestinal origin. Colonoscopic biopsy confirmed adenocarcinoma of the sigmoid colon...

BACKGROUND: Oncologists are prescribing checkpoint inhibitors with greater frequency, and an awareness of and ability to recognize immune-related adverse events (irAEs) is a key part of the safe administration of these drugs. CASE DESCRIPTION: Herein, we report the case of a 26-year-old male diagnosed with de novo metastatic right-sided colon cancer to the liver, with tumor immunohistochemistry demonstrating loss of MSH2 and MSH6 , and a pathogenic mutation in MSH2 identified on germline testing, consistent with Lynch Syndrome...

There is a liver damage in a serious side effect of regorafenib. Case 1 was a 54-year-old woman, and she had an operation of rectal cancer and metastasized to multiple organs afterwards and started regorafenib as third-line. Erythema exudativum multiform developed on the 8th day after a start and regorafenib was canceled once and reduced on the 21st day when a skin symptom was relieved and restarted. However, because a significant rise of AST, ALT, T -Bil was recognized afterwards, regorafenib was canceled on the 27th day and enforced steroid pulse therapy and was relieved afterwards...

The Neo RAS phenomenon is defined as the conversion of tumor RAS status from mutant-type (MT) to wild-type (WT) after systemic chemotherapy in metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). Cetuximab, an anti-epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) antibody, is effective in patients with RAS WT mCRC but ineffective in those with RAS MT mCRC; however, its outcome in patients with Neo RAS WT mCRC is unclear. Herein, we report two cases of Neo RAS WT mCRC that responded clinically to anti-EGFR treatment. The first was a 40-year-old man with synchronous peritoneal metastatic rectosigmoid cancer...

Pancreatic cancer commonly metastasizes to the liver, lung or adrenal glands, but rarely spreads to the colon. We describe a case of a 65-year-old man with operation history of endoscopic submucosal dissection for rectal adenoma, who visited our department with a lesion in the sigmoid colon. A biopsy of the sigmoid pathologic lesion found heterologous cells in the muscularis mucosa, which indicated that this lesion did not originate in the colon. Abdominal enhanced CT results revealed a soft tissue mass in pancreatic tail and several masses in the liver and rectovesical pouch...

A 68-year-old man with a previous history of lung cancer presented with deteriorating appetite and weight loss. Imaging revealed significant retroperitoneal lymphadenopathy, as well as liver and bone lesions consistent with widespread metastatic carcinoma. Biopsy results from the liver lesions confirmed the diagnosis of metastatic non-small cell lung carcinoma. A PDL-1 immunostain, performed on the initial lung resection specimen, showed a combined positive score (CPS) of 15 and pembrolizumab treatment was initiated...

BACKGROUND: Cancer has become an important cause of death in solid organ transplant patients. The cause of malignancies in patients with solid organ transplants is multifactorial, but the use of intensive immunosuppression is regarded as an important factor. We describe the spontaneous, complete regression of colon cancer liver metastases, without initiation of antitumor therapy, in a solid organ transplant patient after modulation of immunosuppressants. Case Presentation. A 59-year-old female was admitted with fever, general discomfort, and elevated liver enzymes...

The case was a man in his 60s. With a complaint of loss of appetite, a peripheral type 3 lesion was found from the lower body of the stomach to the vestibule, and a biopsy revealed poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma. CT examination revealed that the tumor had invaded the left lobe of the liver and the transverse colon, and that the para-aortic lymph nodes were swollen and multiple nodules of the gastrocolonic mesentery were found. After 6 courses of S-1 plus cisplatin(SP)therapy were performed, the tumor shrank and lymph node swelling and nodule disappearance were observed...

RATIONALE: Lung cancer is the most common cause of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Approximately 50% of patients is metastatic at diagnosis and the most common metastatic sites are bone, lungs, brain, adrenal glands, liver, and extra thoracic lymph nodes. The occurrence of gastrointestinal metastasis from lung carcinoma is rare and seems more commonly related to small cell lung cancer compared to non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). PATIENT INFORMATION AND DIAGNOSIS: A 78-year-old man with completely surgically resected NSCLC and no initial evidence of distant metastases developed colon and gastric metastases 7 months after diagnosis, confirmed by serial radiological examinations and endoscopic biopsies...

A 59-year-old male presented with a two-month history of abdominal pain and was found to have an obstructing cecal mass. Colonoscopy and biopsy confirmed invasive adenocarcinoma. Immunohistochemical analyses for mismatch repair (MMR) proteins revealed the loss of MLH1 as well as PMS2 in cancerous nuclei, which makes the tumor MMR deficient. Negative germline testing for MMR proteins ruled out the Lynch syndrome. After negative staging computerized tomography scan for distant metastases, he underwent ileocolectomy with ileotransverse colonic anastomosis...

Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy is a standard mode of therapy for rectal cancer but not colon cancer. A 74-year-old man undergoing treatment for prostate cancer was found to have a tumor in both the sigmoid colon and liver. Colonoscopy showed a type 2 tumor of the sigmoid colon, with a biopsy confirming a diagnosis of well differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma. Computed tomography demonstrated a tumor of the sigmoid colon with metastasis to the liver. As there was a high suspicion of invasion of the left ureter, we decided to administer mFOLFOX6 as neoadjuvant chemotherapy prior to tumor resection...
