BACKGROUND: The aim of this work is to provide the currently missing evidence that may allow an update of the Paediatric Dosage Card provided by the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) for conventional PET/CT systems. METHODS: In a total of 2082 consecutive [18 F]FDG-PET scans performed within the EuroNet-PHL-C2 trial, the administered [18 F]FDG activity was compared to the activity recommended by the EANM Paediatric Dosage Card. None of these scans had been rejected beforehand by the reference nuclear medicine panel of the trial because of poor image quality...

PURPOSE: To compare the potential efficiency of [68 Ga]Ga-LNC1007 with 2-[18 F]FDG/[68 Ga]Ga-PSMA PET/CT for detecting renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and to explore parameters derived from [68 Ga]Ga-LNC1007 PET/CT for discriminating pathological characteristics in RCC. METHODS: Twenty-five RCC patients confirmed by pathology were enrolled in this prospective study. The maximum standardized uptake value (SUVmax ), mean SUV (SUVmean ), gross tumor volume (GTV) and total lesion-tracer (TL-tracer) of lesions were calculated from the corresponding PET/CT images...

PURPOSE: No consensus on a grading system for invasive lung adenocarcinoma had been built over a long period of time. Until October 2020, a novel grading system was proposed to quantify the whole landscape of histologic subtypes and proportions of pulmonary adenocarcinomas. This study aims to develop a deep learning grading signature (DLGS) based on positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) to personalize surgical treatments for clinical stage I invasive lung adenocarcinoma and explore the biologic basis under its prediction...

PURPOSE: We present the results of an open-label, phase I/II study evaluating the safety and efficacy of the novel somatostatin receptor (SSTR) antagonist [177 Lu]Lu-satoreotide tetraxetan in 40 patients with previously treated, progressive neuroendocrine tumours (NETs), in which dosimetry was used to guide maximum administered activity. METHODS: This study was conducted in two parts. Part A consisted of 15 patients who completed three cycles of [177 Lu]Lu-satoreotide tetraxetan at a fixed administered activity and peptide amount per cycle (4...

PURPOSE: Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cells have established themselves as an effective treatment for refractory or relapsed large B cell lymphoma (LBCL). Recently, the sDmax, which corresponds to the distance separating the two farthest lesions standardized by the patient's body surface area, has appeared as a prognostic factor in LBCL. This study aimed to identify [18 F]FDG-PET biomarkers associated with prognosis and predictive of adverse events in patients treated with CAR T cells...

PURPOSE: Intracytoplasmic melanin pigment is a characteristic of clear cell sarcoma (CCS), which is a particularly deadly type of soft-tissue sarcoma. [18 F]-N-(2-(diethylamino)ethyl)-5-(2-(2-(2-fluoroethoxy)ethoxy)ethoxy)picolinamide ([18 F]-PFPN) is a positron emission tomography (PET) probe characterized by high melanin affinity. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the feasibility of melanin-targeted [18 F]-PFPN PET in patients with CCS. METHODS: This prospective single-centre study recruited patients with pathologically confirmed CCS...

PURPOSE: Temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE) is a common, polygenic epilepsy syndrome that involves glucose hypometabolism in the epileptogenic zone. However, the transcriptional and cellular signatures underlying the metabolism in TLE remain unclear. METHODS: In this retrospective study, 2-[18 F]-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose ([18 F]FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) scans of TLE patients (n = 104) who underwent anterior temporal lobectomy were consecutively collected between 2016 and 2021...

AIM: Unspecific bone uptake is one of the main limitations of PET imaging with some PSMA-targeting radiopharmaceuticals, especially with [18 F]PSMA-1007. We explored the potential association between osteoporosis and the occurrence of unspecific [18 F]PSMA-1007 bone uptake investigating markers which might correlate with bone mineral density. MATERIALS AND METHODS: We retrospectively analyzed treatment-naïve patients with a confirmed diagnosis of prostate adenocarcinoma who underwent staging [18 F]PSMA-1007 positron emission tomography (PET)...

PURPOSE: PET has been demonstrated to be sensitive for detecting active inflammation in Takayasu's arteritis (TAK) patients, but semi-quantitative-based assessment may be susceptible to various biological and technical factors. Absolute quantification via dynamic PET (dPET) may provide a more reliable and quantitative assessment of TAK-active arteries. The purpose of this study was to investigate the feasibility and efficacy of dPET in quantifying TAK-active arteries compared to static PET...

PURPOSE: Image artefacts continue to pose challenges in clinical molecular imaging, resulting in misdiagnoses, additional radiation doses to patients and financial costs. Mismatch and halo artefacts occur frequently in gallium-68 (68 Ga)-labelled compounds whole-body PET/CT imaging. Correcting for these artefacts is not straightforward and requires algorithmic developments, given that conventional techniques have failed to address them adequately. In the current study, we employed differential privacy-preserving federated transfer learning (FTL) to manage clinical data sharing and tackle privacy issues for building centre-specific models that detect and correct artefacts present in PET images...
