The diagnosis of ectopic pregnancy.

Recent developments in pregnancy testing, pelvic ultrasound, and diagnostic laparoscopy have enabled the physician to make an early and accurate diagnosis. Familiarity with these diagnostic aids is critical since prompt diagnosis will reduce the likelihood of life-threatening intraperitoneal hemorrhage and may allow more conservative surgery to be performed.
