Vacuum operator's experience - does it really matter?

We read the study by Bergendahl et al. recently published in this journal with great interest1 . They performed a retrospective cohort study among nulliparous women delivered by vacuum extraction at a teaching hospital and evaluated the risk for obstetric anal sphincter injury (OASIS) giving specific attention to operator related variables. While the authors interestingly address this important issue, several important points warrant further clarification. This article is protected by copyright. All rights reserved.
