Actinic keratosis (AK) is the most common cutaneous intraepithelial neoplasm that typically develops on sun-damaged skin of elderly patients. Some untreated AK lesions may progress into invasive squamous cell carcinoma (iSCC) (1). Treatments for AKs could be classified in "lesion-directed treatments" including cryotherapy, laser, curettage, and dermabrasion; "field-directed treatments" including imiquimod, PDT, ingenol mebutate, diclofenac and piroxicam (1).
