Chemistry-A European Periodical.

"Swift fly the years", wrote Alexander Pope. I, for one, feel that 2018, my first full year as Editor-in-Chief of Chemistry-A European Journal, flew swiftly indeed. Looking back, the editorial team has accomplished a lot in 2018: We published nearly 2400 papers, more than 200 of which were Reviews, Minireviews or Concepts. Notwithstanding the growth in submitted and published papers we were able to handle manuscripts rapidly. Median times from submission to acceptance were 36 days for primary research papers (all issues from January through September), which is as fast as Chemical Communications (37 days in the same time period). Our data include both Communications and Full Papers, though.
