Carbon Nanoframes: Well-Dispersed ZIF-Derived Co,N-Co-doped Carbon Nanoframes through Mesoporous-Silica-Protected Calcination as Efficient Oxygen Reduction Electrocatalysts (Adv. Mater. 8/2016).

Advanced Materials 2016 Februrary
The performances of metal and nitrogen co-doped carbon electrocatalysts obtained by pyrolysis suffer enormously from the irreversible fusion and aggregation of catalyst particles during pyrolysis. On page 1668, T. Zhang and co-workers develop a mesoporous SiO2 -protected calcination strategy for the synthesis of a dispersive Co,N-co-doped carbon framework with outstanding oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) electrocatalytic activity from Co,Zn-ZIF precursors. This strategy can be also suitable for other heteroatom-doped carbon electrocatalysts prepared by pyrolysis.
