Annals of Thoracic Surgery 2016 Februrary
Atrial septal defect is one of the most common congenital heart anomalies in adults. Patients with partial atrioventricular canal defects, previously known as ostium primum atrial septal defect, usually present at an early age, and only a few reach adulthood without surgical correction.
