With POISE the betablocker used was metoprolol succinate , shouldn't we be looking at some of the newer Betablockers. Carvedilol or Nebivolol in the perioperative population?

How foolish we have been with beta blocker use. For.decades we were taught to avoid use in weak hearts and now we realize that weak hearts need beta blockers and get sicker with inotropes.
