[Use of antidepressants during pregnancy].

Ugeskrift for Laeger 2011 April 12
Pharmacological treatment of depression during pregnancy must balance the potential fetal risks of the medication with the risks of an undertreated or untreated depression. The choice of treatment is difficult and an increasing number of pregnant women and their doctors face the dilemma. There are non-pharmacological options for treatment but they may not be sufficient or available. The paper summarises the potential fetal effects of antidepressant use during pregnancy and attempts to put these effects in a clinical context.
