Intensive insulin therapy and insulin pumps.

The introduction of intensive insulin therapy can be a difficult transition for patients who have diabetes mellitus. A carefully designed treatment program will help keep patients motivated and informed. Selecting the most appropriate insulin regimen and delivery system for patients' individual needs can help patients make a smoother transition to intensive insulin therapy and improve the likelihood of long-term success.
