[Laparoscopic radical resection for gallbladder carcinoma].
Zhonghua Yi Xue za Zhi [Chinese medical journal] 2009 May 13
OBJECTIVE: To evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of laparoscopic radical resection of gallbladder carcinoma.
METHODS: The clinical feature, pathological stage, surgical procedure, postoperative recovery and follow-up results of 4 patients undergoing laparoscopic radical resection of gallbladder carcinoma were retrospectively analyzed.
RESULTS: A total of 4 cases were successfully performed. No operative deaths and complications happened. Two patients died of recurrence at 17 and 40 months respectively. There were no port-site and abdominal wall metastases occurred.
CONCLUSION: Laparoscopic radical resection of gallbladder carcinoma is a safe and feasible procedure on basis of technique. Nonetheless prospective randomization study with a greater number of cases and a longer follow-up will be needed to evalut the long-term results of it.
