Percutaneous heart valve replacement and repair: advances and future potential.

Major advancements in transcatheter valve therapies have occurred over the past decade that are worthy of focused attention. Some are on the verge of mainstay therapy, while others shine prosperously into the near future. This review summarizes the current status of transcatheter valve interventions and highlights some of the field's major advancements, technical challenges and future perspectives. It is, undoubtedly, a rapidly evolving discipline that portends immense promise in the evolution of cardiovascular medicine.
