[Medical students' periods at interprofessional training wards].

Ugeskrift for Laeger 2008 October 28
Interprofessional training wards have now been established in Denmark. Nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapist and medical students train interprofessional collaboration while holding the responsibility for orthopaedic patients in the training ward and being supervised by clinical tutors. The result is a strengthening of the students' own professional identity and ability to understand other professions' role in patient care and rehabilitation. Patient satisfaction and complications are similar to those of conventional wards. Clinical tutoring and economy in the training wards can be a challenge.
