[Primary childhood vasculitis--new classification criteria].

Ugeskrift for Laeger 2008 September 2
Primary vasculitis is seen in both adults and children, but some of the diseases like Kawasaki disease occur primarily in children. The Chapel Hill Classification Criteria for primary vasculitis refers to the size of vessels but has not been validated in children. Recently, new criteria for the classification of childhood vasculitides have been proposed by a working group of the Pediatric Rheumatology European Society and the EULAR Standing Committee on Paediatric Rheumatology. This review describes primary vasculitides from a pediatric perspective referring to the new consensus criteria.
