AMPK and ACC phosphorylation: effect of leptin, muscle fibre type and obesity.

Leptin stimulates fatty acid oxidation via the phosphorylation of AMPK (AMP-activated protein kinase) and ACC (acetyl-CoA carboxylase). Obesity is associated with resistance to the effects of leptin.
