[Late ventricular potential as a risk factor for sudden cardiac death in chronically hemodialysed patients].

Severe heart arrhythmias are common in patients with irreversible renal failure on chronic hemodialysis. Late ventricular potentials revealed on the signal-averaged electrocardiogram were found to have predictive value of sudden cardiac death in general population of patients with coronary artery disease or nonischemic cardiomyopathy. The value of this method in hemodialysis patients is presented and discussed.
