PURPOSE: Early-stage spondylolysis (ESS) is a common cause of acute low back pain (LBP) in adolescents. When treating patients with ESS, early diagnosis is essential, yet difficult without magnetic resonance imaging. This study evaluates a self-reported questionnaire for detecting ESS.
