We report a case of posterior reversible encephalopathy syndrome (PRES) during treatment for alcohol withdrawal syndrome with gabapentin and clonidine. The patient developed severe hypertension, confusion and tremor, culminating in bilateral vision loss and a seizure. Imaging revealed posterior cerebral edema.
