OBJECTIVE: Gender nonconformity refers to individuals whose gender identity, roles, or expressions do not adhere to societal standards and norms. Affirmative care is an approach to healthcare delivery in which organizations, programs, and providers recognize, validate, and support the identity stated or expressed by the individuals served. This study examined the effects of nonsurgical interventions performed by dermatologists, specifically botulinum toxins (BoNTA) and dermal filler injections, on the physical and mental health of Filipino gender nonconforming individuals...

INTRODUCTION: Nose reshaping with hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers, also known as medical rhinoplasty, is an increasingly popular, minimally invasive aesthetic procedure. As the demand for nasal reshaping continues to rise, it is essential to develop safe and efficient injection techniques and assess satisfaction to ensure optimal outcomes and patient-centered care. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to evaluate patient and physician satisfaction with hyaluronic acid filler applications using microinjection technique for nasal reshaping...

BACKGROUND: Expansion of the aesthetic treatment armamentarium with novel injectable products has greatly improved our ability to reshape and enhance the facial profile. However, full-face "profiloplasty" with injectables remain a nascent concept and is insufficiently considered in daily practice. While techniques have been widely published for treating the individual facial areas that constitute an attractive profile-including the forehead, nose, lips, jawline, and chin-the literature remains fragmented on more universal methods for profile improvement...

BACKGROUND: Nonsurgical cosmetic procedures, particularly the use of hyaluronic acid (HA)-based soft tissue fillers, are becoming increasingly popular. This trend has catalyzed the development of a plethora of HA-based products differing in product characteristics, thereby catering to an ever-widening spectrum of aesthetic applications. However, complications rise concomitant with the increasing number of procedures. Among the strategies to manage such adverse events is the enzymatic breakdown with hyaluronidase...

BACKGROUND: Recent research introduced the concept of the "line of convergence" as a guide for injectors to enhance precision and avoid complications when treating the frontalis muscle with toxins. However, currently, no pre-injection ultrasound scanning is employed to increase precision and reduce adverse events when searching for the line of convergence. OBJECTIVE: To explore the feasibility and practicality of implementing pre-injection ultrasound scanning into aesthetic neuromodulator treatments of the forehead...

BACKGROUND: Lymphaticovenous anastomosis is widely used in lymphedema management. Although its effectiveness in reducing edema in patients can be clinically observed, evaluating the long-term outcomes of this technique can be complex. This study established an animal model to assess the outcomes of lymphaticovenous anastomosis technique at 15 and 30-days post-surgery using indocyanine green lymphography, Patent Blue V dye injection, and histopathological examination. METHODS: An experimental model was established in the hindlimbs of 10 rabbits using the popliteal vein and afferent lymphatic vessels in the popliteal area...

BACKGROUND: Nowadays, people's pace of life continues to rapid up, and many bad habits will accelerate the aging of the eye periphery, and patients with sunken upper eyelids are to be found in younger people. In young Asians, single eyelids are often accompanied by upper eyelid depression, so correcting the upper eyelid depression during blepharoplasty becomes a higher challenge for plastic surgeons. Current surgical methods for upper eyelid depression include three major categories: tissue repositioning, injection and filling, and combined use...

The study included 40 women who complained about their unaesthetic small chin. Revanesse Versa filler was injected into these patients using a SoftFil cannula in a multilayered fashion, targeting both the deep and superficial fat compartments. For the cannula, three points of entry were chosen depending on a specific anatomical landmark, providing chin beautification in three dimensions...

Subjective assessments of BoNTA effectiveness vary from physician to patient, necessitating an objective approach for evaluation. Acne keloidalis nuchae is a chronic inflammatory condition affecting the occipital area or nape of the neck characterized by fibrotic papules, firm pustules, and nodules that coalesce into keloid like mass or plaques. It was first described by Kaposi in 1969. It is also known as lichen keloidalis nuchae, dermatitis papillaris capillitia, and folliculitis nuchae scleroticans. If not treated in the early stages of the disease it tends to be refractory to conventional methods like topical, intralesional steroids with antibiotics or retinoids...

Immediate lymphatic reconstruction (ILR) is recognized as a surgical approach used to reduce the risk of developing secondary lymphedema, and evidence demonstrating the efficacy of ILR is favorable. Our Lymphatic Center has become a centralized location offering ILR for the risk-reduction in breast cancer-related lymphedema (BCRL) in New England. Over the course of our experience, we made several modifications and adapted our approach to enhance the operative success of this procedure. These include advancements in our use of indocyanine green (ICG) imaging to identify baseline lymphatic anatomical variation, utilization of fluorescein isothiocyanate for lymphatic vessel visualization, application of the lymphosome concept to guide arm injection sites, verification of anastomotic patency (using ICG), localization of reconstruction to guide radiation therapy, incorporation of intraoperative tools to facilitate better anatomic visualization of the axilla, and addition of a lower extremity vein graft to mitigate venous-related complications...

Once it happens, the complication would have a great and long-term impact on patients. BACKGROUND: Implant-based breast reconstruction is the most prevalent form of breast reconstruction. Autologous fat grafting (AFG) was conceptualized as an alternative to implant-based breast reconstruction and was found to be a reliable reconstruction modality. However, usually, a few grafting rounds are required to create the desired shape and size of the breast. Current literature describes ample experience with AFG as an adjunct to implant-based breast reconstruction for improving appearance...
