The modulation transfer function (MTF) is a fundamental tool for assessing the sharpness of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) systems and is primarily measured using edge devices. We compared the MTF of a Senographe Pristina DBT system using four-edge devices. These devices were composed of stainless steel with a thickness of 0.6, 0.8, and 1.0 mm, and 1.0 mm tungsten, based on different international guidelines. We evaluated spatial frequencies at MTFs of 0.5 (MTF50%) and 0.1 (MTF10%). The collimator-equipped and non-collimator configurations of the DBT were compared...

The COVID-19 pandemic led many in-office therapeutic programs to pivot to virtual programming without empirical data supporting the acceptability and efficacy of the remote-delivered adaptations. These adaptations were essential for continuing care and addressing surging youth psychological problems at the time. To serve adolescents with comorbid psychiatric disorders and associated problems (e.g., emotion dysregulation), we adapted and implemented virtual and hybrid formats of a dialectical behavior therapy for adolescents (DBT-A; Rathus & Miller, 2015) program within a public university training clinic, such as separating the traditional multifamily group into adolescent-only and caregiver-only groups...

Hydrodesulfurization (HDS) is a commonly used route for producing clean fuels in modern refinery. Herein, ammonium/amine-intercalated MoS2 catalysts with various content of 1T phase and S vacancies have been successfully synthesized. Along with the increment of 1T phase and S vacancies of MoS2 , the initial reaction rate of the HDS of dibenzothiophene (DBT) can be improved from 0.09 to 0.55 μmol·gcat -1 ·s-1 , accounting for a remarkable activity compared to the-state-of-the-art catalysts...

Background Artificial intelligence (AI) is increasingly used to manage radiologists' workloads. The impact of patient characteristics on AI performance has not been well studied. Purpose To understand the impact of patient characteristics (race and ethnicity, age, and breast density) on the performance of an AI algorithm interpreting negative screening digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) examinations. Materials and Methods This retrospective cohort study identified negative screening DBT examinations from an academic institution from January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2019...

Branched chain ketoacid dehydrogenase kinase (BCKDK) deficiency is a recently described inherited neurometabolic disorder of branched chain amino acid (BCAA) metabolism implying increased BCAA catabolism. It has been hypothesized that a severe reduction in systemic BCAA levels underlies the disease pathophysiology, and that BCAA supplementation may ameliorate disease phenotypes. To test this hypothesis, we characterized a recent mouse model of BCKDK deficiency and evaluated the efficacy of enteral BCAA supplementation in this model...

CONTEXT: This study delves into hole-electron transport and distribution properties inherent in mono-brominated dibenzofuran (DBF) and dibenzothiophene (DBT) isomers. As determined by frontier molecular orbitals, all brominated structures have narrower bandgaps than their primary structures. The TD-DFT calculation showed that 2BDBT had the highest absorption wavelength of all molecules at 315.35 nm. Notably, the study unveils remarkably low electron and hole reorganization energies due to bromine substitution in DBF and DBT molecules...

Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is widely acknowledged as an effective treatment for individuals with borderline personality disorder (BPD). However, the optimal treatment duration within DBT remains a topic of investigation. This retrospective, naturalistic non-randomized study aimed to compare the efficacy of 8 week and 12 week DBT interventions with equivalent content, focusing on the change of BPD-specific symptomatology as the primary outcome and depressive symptoms as the secondary outcome...

The fabrication of supramolecular light-harvesting systems (LHS) with sequential energy transfer is of significance in utilizing light energy. In this study, we report the non-covalent self-assembly of a sequential LHS by pillar[5]arene-based host-guest interaction in water and its applications in white light-emitting diode (LED) device and latent fingerprint imaging. The host-guest complex WP5⸧G self-assembles into nanoparticles in water and shows enhanced aggregation-induced emission (AIE) effect. The nanoparticles can be further used to construct sequential LHS with fluorescent dyes 4,7-di(2-thienyl)-benzo[2,1,3]thiadiazole (DBT) and sulforhodamine 101 (SR101)...

The underutilization of digestate-derived polymers presents a pressing environmental concern as these valuable materials, derived from anaerobic digestion processes, remain largely unused, contributing to pollution and environmental degradation when left unutilized. This study explores the recovery and utilization of biodegradable polymers from biomass anaerobic digestate to enhance the performance of solar photovoltaic (PV) cells while promoting environmental sustainability. The anaerobic digestion process generates organic residues rich in biodegradable materials, often considered waste...

BACKGROUND: The growth guidance (GG) method for treatment of early onset scoliosis has as its primary goal the restoration of apical spinal alignment, facilitating normal spinal growth to achieve a suitable adult thoracic height. PURPOSE: To evaluate whether GG surgical treatment achieves comparable thoracic and spinal height to distraction-based treatment (DBT) in idiopathic early onset scoliosis (I-EOS) patients. We hypothesized that GG would prove superior to DBT at the time of definitive fusion surgery...

DBT-Cl possessed a prominent solvatochromic emission property with intramolecular charge transfer (ICT) from the TPA (triphenylamine) to the amide group, which was studied by spectroscopic analysis and DFT calculations. These unique AIE properties of DBT-Cl led to the recognition of ClO- with high fluorescent selectivity...

One of the world's challenging energy issues is introducing practical and affordable technology for organosulfur removal in fuel. Adsorptive desulfurization (ADS) can address this issue if highly effective activated carbon (AC) derived from industrial waste with excellent textural properties is used. In this study, the derived ACs from glycerin pitch loaded with P and Fe (AC/P and AC/Fe) were used as adsorbents for the ADS of model fuel oils, such as dibenzothiophene (DBT) at mild operating conditions. BACKGROUND: Mammography (MG) has demonstrated its effectiveness in diminishing mortality and advanced-stage breast cancer incidences in breast screening initiatives. Notably, research has accentuated the superior diagnostic efficacy and cost-effectiveness of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). However, the scope of evidence validating the cost-effectiveness of DBT remains limited, prompting a requisite for more comprehensive investigation. The present study aimed to rigorously evaluate the cost-effectiveness of DBT plus MG (DBT-MG) compared to MG alone within the framework of Taiwan's National Health Insurance program...
