OBJECTIVE: Surgical demonstration of combined sacral plexus neurolysis and laparoscopic laterally extended endopelvic resection for deep lateral infiltrating endometriosis. DESIGN: Video showing principles of neurolysis and laparoscopic laterally extended endopelvic resection applied to endometriotic surgery. SETTING: University tertiary referral center. Deep infiltrating endometriosis is an underestimated disease with real medical and clinical issues, recently classified as central pelvic endometriosis and lateral pelvic endometriosis further divided into superficial and deep according to the structures' involvement [1]...

BACKGROUND: Hepatobiliary resections are challenging due to the complex liver anatomy. Three-dimensional printing (3DP) has gained popularity due to its ability to produce anatomical models based on the characteristics of each patient. METHODS: A multicenter study was conducted on complex hepatobiliary tumours. The endpoint was to validate 3DP model accuracy from original image sources for application in the teaching, patient-communication, and planning of hepatobiliary surgery...

OBJECTIVES: Spinal cord stimulation (SCS) is used for various indications such as Failed Back Surgey Syndrome, peripheral causalgia, neuropathic pain, complex regional pain syndrome, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, peripheral vascular disease, ischemic heart disease and cancer pain. METHODS: This is a retrospective study. 62 patients applied SCS were included in retrospective study from february 2011-january 2015 in Akdeniz University medicine faculty algology department...

PURPOSE: To report our experience in the use of CT in the evaluation of adult intestinal intussusception. A correlation between radiologic findings and surgery was attempted in order to verify our diagnostic hypothesis. MATERIAL AND METHODS: Intestinal intussusception was diagnosed by CT between September 1993 and December 2000 in 10 patients (6 men and 4 women, age range 18-82 years). For 9/10 patients the diagnosis was confirmed by surgery; in one patient the condition resolved spontaneously as confirmed by a follow-up CT performed 24 hours after the first...

Experiments were performed on conscious, chronically instrumented rats to determine the role of arginine vasopressin (AVP) on the systemic and regional hemodynamic effects of 48-h water deprivation. Arterial and venous catheters as well as pulsed Doppler flow probes were implanted in rats to measure cardiac output (CO), mesenteric blood flow (MBF), renal blood flow (RBF), or hindquarter blood flow (HQBF). After adequate recovery from surgey, euhydrated animals were administered a specific V1-vasopressinergic antagonist [d(CH2)5Tyr(Me)AVP, 10 micrograms/kg iv], a combined V1, V2-antagonist [d(CH2)5DTyr(Et)VAVP, 30 micrograms/kg iv], or saline vehicle (100 microliter/100 g)...
