The Multi MatriX system (MMX®) formulation of mesalazine (Lialda®; Mesavancol®; Mezavant®) [henceforth referred to as MMX mesalazine] is an oral, high-dose, once-daily, gastro-resistant, prolonged-release formulation indicated for use in patients with mild to moderate ulcerative colitis.
