Background Congenital/infantile fibrosarcoma is a rare soft tissue tumor presented in early age of life. It should be considered in the differential diagnosis of the large soft tissue masses especially in the extremities at the age of infancy. These tumors frequently are misdiagnosed at birth as hemangioma. Histologically, they can resemble their adult counterparts and they are characterized by the chromosomal translocation t(12;15) (p13;q25) resulting in the ETV6-NTRK3 gene fusion. Objective A retrospective review of the MRI features of histopathology-proven congenital/infantile fibrosarcoma provides our own institutional experience and supports the limited radiology literature written about this disease...

A 37-year-old female patient was admitted to the hospital with a large liver mass, diagnosed as hepatic inflammatory myofibroblastic tumour (HIMT), characterized by unique radiographic features and predominantly occurring in adults. HIMT consists of myofibroblast spindle cells infiltrated by plasma cells and/or lymphocytes, with an unclear aetiology linked to factors like infection and immune response. Treatment typically involves surgical resection, with chemotherapy or targeted therapy options for cases of incomplete resection or metastasis, emphasizing the need for precise diagnosis and tailored treatment strategies...

BACKGROUND: Hemangiomas are a relatively common type of tumor in humans and animals. Various subtypes of hemangiomas have been described in the literature. The classification methods for hemangiomas differ between human and veterinary medicine, and the basis for tumor classification can be found in the literature. CASE PRESENTATION: This study describes a tumor in the subcutaneous tissue of the right dorsum of an artificially rescued juvenile Chinese pangolin. Computed tomography (CT) examination yielded the preliminary diagnosis of a vascular malformation, and surgery was performed to resect the tumor...

Spindle cell hemangioma (SCH) is an exceptionally uncommon vascular neoplasm, primarily manifesting on the extremities. This article delves into a singular case of a 20-year-old female presenting with erythema and discomfort in the left palm, diagnosed with SCH. Post-consultation with a dermatologic neoplasm consortium, she underwent a comprehensive excision, followed by a bi-phasic skin graft. Despite non-clear surgical perimeters, the patient, five years post-procedure, has experienced neither re-emergence nor functional encumbrance...

Spindle cell hemangioendothelioma (SCH) is extremely rare. Only four cases have been reported in the spinal cord (Mahdavi et al., 1996; Abdullah et al., 2002; Nasser et al., 2016; Talan-Hranilović et al., 2007) [1-4]. In addition to surgery, radiotherapy is another effective treatment for spinal cord SCH. Two patients received radiotherapy to a total dose of 50-55Gy and benefited from it. For the treatment of this benign tumor, no one has tried to lower the radiation dose so far. Description:We report a 56-year-old man with extramedullary subdural SCH located in the T10-T11 spinal cord...

Preferentially expressed antigen in melanoma (PRAME) immunohistochemistry is currently used in pathology for the assessment of melanocytic neoplasms; however, knowledge of its expression patterns in soft tissue tumors is limited. PRAME immunohistochemistry (clone QR005) was assessed on whole tissue sections of 350 soft-tissue tumors and mimics (> 50 histotypes). PRAME immunoreactivity was evaluated as follows: 0 "negative" (0% positive cells); 1+ (1-25% positive cells); 2+ (26-50% positive cells); 3+ (51-75% positive cells), and 4+ "diffuse" (> 75% positive cells)...

Posterior choroidal leiomyoma is a sporadic, rare benign tumor that is always confused with anaplastic melanoma. Here we report a case and provide a review. Most of the preoperative findings in our case were suggestive of malignant choroidal melanoma. However, the contrast enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) suggested a benign hemangioma. In summary, the posterior choroidal leiomyomas were yellowish-white in color and most commonly located in the temporal quadrant of the fundus (11/15). They were more frequent in Asians (13/16), the prevalence was almost equal in males and females (9:7), with a mean age of 35y...

Cutaneous vascular tumors constitute a heterogeneous group of entities that share overlapping morphologic and immunohistochemical features, which can be diagnostically challenging for pathologists and dermatopathologists. Our understanding and knowledge of vascular neoplasms have improved over time, resulting in both a refinement of their classification by the International Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies (ISSVA) and an improvement in the accurate diagnosis and clinical management of vascular neoplasms...

Kaposi sarcoma (KS) is an endothelial tumor associated with human herpesvirus 8. Cutaneous lesions can present with pink or purple patches, plaques, and nodules which can be ulcerated. The main subtypes of KS generally have similar histologic appearances, with spindle cells and expression of human herpesvirus 8 being characteristic features. However, various histologic variants have been reported. We present the case of a 55-year-old man with cutaneous KS with cavernous hemangioma-like histological features...

Spindle cell hemangioma (SCH) is a benign vascular tumour, first identified by Weiss and Enzinger in 1986. Habitually, the SCH affects almost exclusively the dermis and subcutaneous tissues of distal extremities. So far, only 2 cases have been described in the lung. We describe herein the third case of SCH occurring in the lung in a 47 year-old woman. The patient was successfully treated by right lower lobectomy. The histopathological and immunohistochemistry examination of the excised tumour leads to the definitive diagnosis...

Pyogenic granuloma (PG), also known as lobular capillary hemangioma, is a common benign vascular proliferation of unclear etiology. The proposed etiology includes trauma, infection, and preceding dermatoses. All age groups and both sexes can be affected. It should be differentiated from malignant tumors such as amelanotic melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, and spindle cell tumor. We present a case of recurrent significant bleeding from the abdominal wall mass requiring blood transfusion. Surgical excision is the recommended treatment...

Epithelioid and spindle cell hemangioma was initially described in 1999 in a series of primary bone tumors and was subsequently suggested by some to represent a variant of epithelioid hemangioma. Here, we studied 18 epithelioid and spindle cell hemangiomas. Nine patients (50%) were male. Age at presentation ranged from 12 to 78 years (median: 38.5 y). Nine patients (50%) had tumor(s) limited to bone, 5 (28%) had tumor(s) limited to soft tissue, and 4 (22%) had tumor(s) involving bone and soft tissue. Nine patients (50%) had multiple tumors, all in a unilateral anatomic region involving the wrist, hand, ankle, or foot...
