The genus Reichardtiolus Kryzhanovskij, 1959 is revised herein. It now contains five species: R. duriculus (Reitter, 1904) from middle Asia (with a doubtful female specimen from western China that is here tentatively assigned to this species), R. pavlovskii Kryzhanovskij, 1959 from Turkmenistan, R. sphingis (Peyerimhoff, 1936), comb. n. (transferred from Saprinus Erichson, 1834) from Egypt and Jordan, R. perses sp. n. from Iran and R. aldhaferi sp. n. from Saudi Arabia. Except for R. pavlovskii, which is a rather distinct species known only from two females, the remaining species are allopatric, very similar externally and are best separated from each other by their male terminalia...

Echinactinomyxon-type actinospores were found in a mixed-species oligochaete culture originating from the Temperate Water Fish Hatchery near Budapest, Hungary. On the basis of DNA sequence analysis, the actinospores were identified as Myxobolus pavlovskii (Akhmerov, 1954), the 18S rDNA sequence from myxospores of which is available in GenBank. Silver carp Hypophthalmichthys molitrix (Valenciennes) fry specimens were successfully infected by cohabitation with the echinactinomyxon-releasing oligochaetes, which confirmed the molecular data congruence...

An analysis of results of 83 operations performed for tumors of the hepatopancreatobiliary zone included the period of 2006-2007. In 39 resections of the pancreas there were 16 (41.0%) cases when the operation was supplemented with a reconstruction of the major vessels. From 44 resections of the liver 10 (22.7%) interventions were made with resection of the major veins. No specific complications were noted associated with vascular reconstructions in the zones in question. Neoadjuvant intra-arterial oil chemoembolization and adjuvant selective intra-arterial chemoinfusion with gemicitabine was administered to 28 patients with operable exocrine pancreatic cancer. It was well tolerated and not followed by complications which allowed for gastropancreatoduodenal resection to be carried out in all cases. Complete course of combined treatment was given to 23 out of 28 patients (82.1%). As a result, 2-, 3- and 5-year actuarial survival rates were 23.9, 17.4 and 13%, respectively. Long-term survival was recorded among patients without metastases into regional lymph nodes: two of them have survived without relapse for more than 5 years and one died of tumor progression after 4 years of the follow-up...

Results of standard 18FDG PET and double-phase scanning were compared in the course of differential diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and chronic pseudotumorous pancreatitis, particularly, during exacerbation. PET diagnosis of cancer was confirmed in 6.5% while that of double-phase scanning--100%.

The article presents information on stages of the development of teeth implantation in the central stomatologic polyclinic of Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. The authors showed obtained results after introduction of replanatation of teeth and implantation. Advantage of clinical use of implantation against traditional teeth prosthetics was shown.

H-type molecular aggregation as assembly with chromophore dipoles arranged parallel to each other has been observed in absorption and luminescence spectra of divinylbenzoxazolylbiphenyl thin films deposited on quartz glass substrate by thermovacuum method. The reversible changes of fluorescence anisotropy have been observed under film heating below the glass transition temperature correlating with lifetime changes. The addition of oxygen was found to cause an essential luminescence quenching. The hexyloxy group in the side chain of dibenzoxazolylbiphenyl molecule decreases H-type molecular aggregation and energy migration, and increases luminescence quenching induced by adsorbed oxygen owing to the formation of more porous film morphology...

The article presents information on the origin of stomatology and the role of famous french surgeon and dentist, P. Fauchard--the founder of stomatology as a separate branch of science and as the author of the first manual on the treatment of teeth. The author showed in the article a great contribution of P. Fauchard to prosthetic dentistry.
