OBJECTIVES: To evaluate the cannulation success rate, cumulative pregnancy, and time to intrauterine pregnancy rate following fluoroscopically-guided hysteroscopic tubal cannulation (FHTC) for infertile subjects with proximal tubal obstruction. METHODS: This retrospective study evaluated subjects with unilateral or bilateral proximal tubal obstruction on hysterosalpingography, who failed concomitant selective salpingography and subsequently underwent FHTC at the time of a hysteroscopy performed for findings seen on sonohysterography...

The septate uterus is the most common structural uterine anomalies and it is associated with the poor reproductive outcome. It is believed to be the result of the failure in resorption of the tissue connecting the 2 paramesonephric ducts prior to the 20th embryonic week. The true prevalence of uterine septum is difficult to ascertain, as many uterine septal defects are asymptomatic. The septate uterus is usually diagnosed during an infertility evaluation and affects reproductive health by impairing fertility and increasing adverse pregnancy outcomes...

BACKGROUND: Asherman's syndrome is characterized by reduced menstrual volume and adhesions within the uterine cavity and cervix, resulting in inability to carry a pregnancy to term, placental malformation, or infertility. We present the case of a 40-year-old woman diagnosed with Asherman's syndrome who successfully gave birth to a live full-term neonate after hysteroscopic adhesiolysis under laparoscopic observation, intrauterine device insertion, and Kaufmann therapy. CASE SUMMARY: A 40-year-old woman (Gravida 3, Para 0) arrived at our hospital for specialist care to carry her pregnancy to term...

Female genital tuberculosis (FGTB) can be asymptomatic or even masquerade as other gynecological conditions. Conventional methods of FGTB diagnosis include various imaging, bacteriological, molecular, and pathological techniques that are only positive in a small percentage of patients, leaving many cases with undiagnosed condition. In the absence of a perfect diagnostic method, composite reference standards (CRSs) have been advocated in this diagnostic study. This study assesses the agreement between traditional diagnostic modalities using CRS and prevalent TB groups among different fallopian tube infertility manifestations...

RATIONALE: Primary extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphomas of the fallopian tube is extremely rare. It is a great challenge for fertility and gynecology doctors to manage such cases and also fulfil the reproductive demands of these young women. PATIENT CONCERNS: A 30-year-old woman consulted for a 5-year primary infertility. DIAGNOSIS: According to the Ann Arbor staging system, a stage IE extranodal marginal zone B-cell lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma was diagnosed for this patient based on tumor pathology, bone marrow biopsy, hysteroscopy and whole-body positron emission tomography imaging...

Tubal factor is an important contributor to female infertility, and the current diagnostic approaches cannot correctly identify many subtle causes of tubal dysfunction. While it is known that the most common cause of tubal factor infertility is pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), creating critical alterations of the tubal epithelium, little attention has been devoted to understanding the tubal modifications caused by the resident microbial population and their interaction with the surrounding tubal epithelium...

The objective was to assess the method of chromopertubation (CPT) in cases of difficult cannulation to minimize the false-negative cases of tubal block. We had performed laparoscopy and hysteroscopy in 66 females as infertility workup. In all these females, cannulation through the cervical canal was difficult and tubal patency test showed tubal block with Leech-Wilkinson cannula. Then, through the inlet of hysteroscope, methylene blue dye was injected and the patency of tubes was assessed again. In 59 out of the 66 females, we observed that when cannulation and dilation of cervix was difficult, then CPT with hysteroscope showed positive tubal patency test...
