Ticks are responsible for the vast majority of vector-borne illnesses in the United States. The number of reported tick-borne disease (TBD) cases has more than doubled in the past 20 years. Optimising antimicrobial usage (AMU) in livestock is pivotal to counteract the emergence of antimicrobial resistance.
