BACKGROUND: Diphereline is a Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone agonist commonly used in patients with breast cancer. This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of one-month and three-month Microrelin injections produced by Homa Pharmed Company with three-month Diphereline injections manufactured by IPSEN, France. METHODS: The study was a non-inferiority randomized clinical trial conducted between 2019 and 2023 on premenopausal women candidates for endocrine therapy...

BACKGROUND: Circulating microRNAs (miRNAs) can help to predict the chemotherapy response in breast cancer with promising results. The aim of the present study was to investigate the relationships between the miR-199a, miR-663a, and miR-663b expression and chemotherapy response in metastatic breast cancer patients. METHODS: This study is a case-control study performed at Yasuj University of Medical Sciences (2018-2021). The expression levels of miR-663a, miR-663b, and miR-199a in the serum of 25 patients with metastatic breast cancer versus 15 healthy individuals were determined by the real-time polymerase chain reaction method...

Objective: Due to high levels of serum gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH), perimenopausal or menopausal women, girls with central precocious puberty, women of polycystic ovary syndrome, and females receiving long-term GnRH agonist (GnRHa) treatment are at substantially higher risk of developing obesity. However, it remains poorly understood how GnRH affects body weight. Here, we explored whether the gonadotropin-releasing hormone receptor (GnRHR) was expressed in adipocytes and how GnRHR mediated lipid accumulation and the development of obesity...

INTRODUCTION: The optimal management of recurrent ovarian granulosa cell tumors is still unknown, and hormone therapy may be an alternative for chemotherapy-resistant cases. PATIENT CONCERNS: A 46-year-old woman presented with a third recurrence after primary treatment of granulosa cell tumors. She developed tumor progression and drug-induced nephritis after 6 cycles of combined treatment with cisplatin and paclitaxel for the second recurrence and failed to benefit from chemotherapy, after the third optimal cytoreduction and tumor progression after 6 months of letrozole treatment...

A capillary electrophoresis-tandem mass spectrometry method with a multisegment injection and an in-capillary field-enhanced sample stacking for determination of therapeutic peptide triptorelin in pharmaceutical and biological matrices was developed. The CE separation conditions were optimized in order to obtain maximal separation efficiency, analytical signal intensity and stability, and minimal adsorption of the analyzed peptide onto the capillary wall (1 M formic acid-HFo, pH 1.88). The implementation of the field-enhanced sample injection into CE improved the value of limit of detection 50 times while the multisegment injection increased the sample throughput three times in comparison to a conventional CE approach...
