This study aimed to perform a systematic review to evaluate the impact of the oral repercussions of Sjogren's Syndrome (SS) on the quality of life (QoL) of patients living with this disease. To conduct this work, we followed the PRISMA guidelines. The included studies evaluated oral repercussions of SS and their correlation with QoL. The risk of bias was assessed with the JBI tools for each type of study design. Our findings resulted in 26 articles met the eligibility criteria. Seventeen articles (65.3%) used the OHIP-14 questionnaire to evaluate oral health-related QoL (OHRQoL) and showed that the oral repercussions of SS had a negative impact...

This prospective cohort study aimed to investigate the impact of medication-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (MRONJ) on health-related quality of life (HRQOL) and oral health-related QOL (OHRQOL) and the association between the downstaging of MRONJ and OHRQOL. The HRQOL and OHRQOL of 44 patients with MRONJ were assessed using the SF-36v2 and the General Oral Health Assessment Index (GOHAI), respectively. Treatment was performed in accordance with the AAOMS position paper (2014). The SF-36v2 and GOHAI scores at the beginning of the survey were used to evaluate the impact of MRONJ on QOL...

OBJECTIVE: Evaluate the association between oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) and self-reported symptoms of TMD. METHODS: Representative samples of older adults (≥60 years) were included ( n  = 569). Both TMD symptoms and OHRQoL were assessed by Fonseca Anamnestic Index (FAI) and Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14), respectively. Prevalence (those answering "frequently" or "always" in at least one question), severity (total means scores), and extent (number of questions answered as "frequently" or "always") of OHRQoL were estimated...

INTRODUCTION: Erythema multiforme (EM) is an acute mucocutaneous hypersensitivity reaction with various etiological factors, including herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) infection, known as herpes-associated erythema multiforme (HAEM). Oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) is a multidimensional concept of biopsychosocial aspects related to oral health. OHRQol contains information for patient-centered treatment plan development. The OHRQoL measurement instrument widely used by clinicians is the oral health impact profile-14 (OHIP-14)...

Psoriasis is a widespread chronic inflammatory skin disease, that negatively affects physical and emotional well-being and quality of life, as shown by the generally low Dermatology Life Quality Index (DLQI). Psoriasis is burdened by associated comorbidities and some patients manifest concurrent oral lesions, although the existence of oral psoriasis remains controversial. Psoriasis-specific and nonspecific oral lesions and Oral Health-Related Quality of Life (OHRQoL), self-assessed using the Oral Health Impact Profile-14 (OHIP-14) questionnaire, were retrospectively reviewed in adult untreated psoriasis patients with ≥15 teeth, who were non-smokers and had no dental or periodontal infections...

In recent decades, the focus of health research has shifted to the impact of disease or impairment on how people proceed, behave, and experience quality of life. People's lives are affected by oral diseases in various ways. Oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL) is inextricably linked to general health and well-being, and it has far-reaching consequences for clinical practice and dentistry research. Particularly in Indonesia, increasing attention to OHRQoL is related to several concerning oral conditions, such as the extremely high number of cases of tooth decay and inflammation of dental supportive tissue that inexplicably lowers the population's OHRQoL...
