BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Salvage robot assisted radical prostatectomy (sRARP) is performed for patients with biochemical or biopsy proven, localized prostate cancer recurrences after radiation or ablative therapies. Traditionally, sRARP has been avoided by lower volume surgeons due to technical demand and high complication rates. Post-radiation sRARP outcomes studies exist but remain few in number. With increasing use of whole gland and focal ablative therapies, updates on sRARP in this setting are needed...

INTRODUCTION: Translation of cancer research into practice takes around 15 years. Programs informed by implementation science methods and frameworks offer potential to improve cancer outcomes by addressing the implementation gap. METHODS: We describe the development of a Test Evidence Transition (TET) program which provides funding and support to health system delivery teams and project design and evaluation partners working together to achieve three objectives: Test innovations to support optimal cancer pathways that transform clinical practice; Evidence the process, outcome, and impact of implementation; and work with strategic partners to ensure the Transition of best practice into effective and equitable adoption across UK health systems...

This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the Cancer Public Library Database (CPLD), established under the Korean Clinical Data Utilization for Research Excellence project (K-CURE). The CPLD links data from four major population-based public sources: the Korea National Cancer Incidence Database in the Korea Central Cancer Registry, cause-of-death data in Statistics Korea, the National Health Information Database in the National Health Insurance Service, and the National Health Insurance Research Database in the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service...

BACKGROUND: Prostate cancer (PCa) is the most common malignancy after skin cancer in men in Australia. Its management varies according to tumour stage. Due to the significant dependence on androgen receptor signalling, agents that interfere with this pathway (most commonly medical castration in the form of androgen deprivation therapy [ADT]) are the mainstay treatment of advanced disease. OBJECTIVE: This review provides a contemporary update on ADT, with further discussion of emerging novel therapies for primary care...

The emergence of resistance to prostate cancer (PCa) treatment, particularly to androgen deprivation therapy (ADT), has posed a significant challenge in the field of PCa management. Among the therapeutic options for PCa, radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and hormone therapy are commonly used modalities. However, these therapeutic approaches, while inducing apoptosis in tumor cells, may also trigger stress-induced premature senescence (SIPS). Cellular senescence, an entropy-driven transition from an ordered to a disordered state, ultimately leading to cell growth arrest, exhibits a dual role in PCa treatment...

Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) are transcripts that contain more than 200 nucleotides. Despite their inability to code proteins, multiple studies have identified their important role in human cancer through different mechanisms. LncRNA lysyl oxidase like 1 antisense RNA 1 (LOXL1-AS1), a newly discovered lncRNA located on human chromosome 15q24.1, has recently been shown to be involved in the occurrence and progression of various malignancies, such as colorectal cancer, gastric cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, prostate cancer, non-small cell lung cancer, ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, breast cancer, glioma, thymic carcinoma, pancreatic carcinoma...

BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVE: Accurate magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) reporting is essential for transperineal prostate biopsy (TPB) planning. Although approved computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) tools may assist urologists in this task, evidence of improved clinically significant prostate cancer (csPCa) detection is lacking. Therefore, we aimed to document the diagnostic utility of using Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System (PI-RADS) and CAD for biopsy planning compared with PI-RADS alone...

In a recent 99mTc-HYNIC-PSMA study conducted at our department, we examined 2 patients with prostate cancer referred for initial staging on the same day. The whole-body scans revealed radiotracer uptake in the gastric mucosa and thyroid glands, alluding to high levels of free TcO4- in the injected vial. The scans were repeated after confirming acceptable radiopharmaceutical purity of 97% (normal range, 95%-100%). Interestingly, 1 patient had liver metastases at presentation, which remained non-PSMA-avid after repeating the scan...

This review was performed in line with PRISMA 2020 guidelines. METHODS: Eligible studies comprised peer-reviewed observational studies which reported the role of CCBs and RAS inhibitors in PCa, had accessible full texts, and were written in English...

The adoption of multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) and the Prostate Imaging Reporting and Data System has significantly changed prostate cancer diagnosis and management. These advancements, alongside novel biomarkers and updated International Society of Uropathology grade groups, have improved cancer detection and prognostication. Despite this progress, varying levels of expertise in mpMRI among radiologists have resulted in inconsistent assessments, potentially leading to unnecessary procedures and diminished confidence in the modality...

Transcription factors (TFs) are proteins essential for the regulation of gene expression, and they regulate the genes involved in different cellular processes, such as proliferation, differentiation, survival, and apoptosis. Although their expression is essential in normal physiological conditions, abnormal regulation of TFs plays critical role in several diseases, including cancer. In prostate cancer, the most common malignancy in men, TFs are known to play crucial roles in the initiation, progression, and resistance to therapy of the disease...
