Drying is a necessary step in the microalgae production chain to reduce microbial load and oxidative degradation of the end product. Depending on the differences in applied temperature and treatment time, the process of drying can have a substantial impact on protein quality and aroma, important characteristics determining the incorporation potential in food products. In this study, we compared the drying of heterotrophic Chorella vulgaris with both innovative (agitated thin film drying (ATFD), pulse combustion drying (PCD) and solar drying (SolD)) and commonly used drying techniques (spray drying (SprD) and freeze drying (FD))...

BACKGROUND: Morbidity and mortality rates of Digestive System Cancers (DSC) continue to pose human lives and health. Nuclear factor erythroid 2-like protein 3 (NFE2L3) is aberrantly expressed in DSC. This study aimed to explore the clinical value and underlying mechanisms of NFE2L3 as a novel biomarker in DSC. METHODS: We utilized data from databases and clinical gastric cancer specimens to validate the aberrant expression level of NFE2L3 and further assessed the clinical value of NFE2L3...

Hesperidin (HE), a significant flavonoid polyphenolic compound present in citrus plants, exhibits diverse pharmacological effects. Considering the crucial involvement of biological membranes and transporter proteins in the transportation and biological processes of HE, it becomes essential to comprehend the potential mechanisms through which HE interacts with membranes and transporter proteins. In order to simulate the process of active molecule transport, a cell membrane model consisting of 1,2-dipalmitoyl-n-glycero-3-phosphatidylcholine (DPPC) and a transporter protein model of bovine serum albumin (BSA) were employed for investigation...

A novel indole based NNN donor Schiff base ligand and its Ni(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) complexes have been synthesized using sonication-assisted method which is a highly efficient eco-friendly mechanism. The synthesized complexes have been characterized using elemental analysis, UV-Vis spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, FT-IR, and NMR and are optimized using DFT approach, which provided their theoretical framework. The stoichiometry between the ligand and the metal ions was also determined using Job's method. The thermogravimetric (TGA/DSC) analyses confirm the stability for all complexes at room temperature followed by thermal decomposition in different steps...

Drug solubility-related challenges constitute a significant concern for formulation scientists. To address this issue, a recent study focused on developing PEG- g -poly(MAA) copolymeric nanogels to enhance the solubility of olmesartan, a poorly soluble drug.
