The use of at-home remedies for many dermatologic issues is common, as some patients do not seek professional care either for lack of access, excessive cost of prescription medication, or desire for a more "natural" solution. As these over-the-counter compounds become more prevalent, it is important for dermatologists to be aware not only of the chemicals that they contain but also of their potential adverse effects. It is important to educate and warn patients that not only will these compounds probably not achieve the desired endpoint but they may lead to unwanted cosmetic results and even permanent scarring...

A 43-year-old heterosexual Tunisian man presented to the dermatology department with complaints of a genital friable mass. He had a past medical history of chronic hepatitis B. He was married and had a history of multiple sexual partners. The lesion had been present for over 10 years and gradually increased in size, disfiguring his genitalia. A 60-year-old black man, working in construction sector, was referred to dermatology clinic for having multiple hardened and asymptomatic tumors on the scalp, face, and trunk for more than 40 years. There was a progressive increase in the number and size of lesions, causing significant aesthetic and functional impairment. A 1-year-old girl presented with porcelain white fingernails, accidentally discovered when she was referred for an infantile hemangioma consultation. The family reported that the nails had been milky white since birth and her father had similar white finger and toenails. The father remembered that additional family members on his side of the family presented with white nails; however, he could not provide exact information about the number of other relatives affected by this nail abnormality. Ruxolitinib, a Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor, has been used orally for over a decade in the treatment of myelofibrosis. The number of patients developing sterile abscesses because of hyaluronic acid (HA) filler procedures has increased for unknown reasons. Anogenital warts are the most common sexually transmitted infection causing economic and psychosocial issues. Efficacy of zinc has been proved in treating nongenital warts, but its role in treating anogenital warts is not clear. This study was conducted to assess whether oral zinc gluconate in combination with cryotherapy effectively treated anogenital warts. Erosive pustular dermatosis (EPD) is a rare entity, but it is generally overlooked or missed, rather than rarely encountered. It presents with erosions and shallow ulcers, accompanied by delayed healing and associated with cutaneous atrophy, rather than pustules.
