The activity of carvacrol was evaluated in R. microplus female ticks by estimating the mean lethal concentration (LC50 ) and the acaricidal efficacy. Ticks were subjected to the Adult Immersion Test (AIT) to calculate LC50 . From this value, the AIT was performed again at the concentrations of 20%, 40%, 60%, 80% and 100% of the LC50 . Two control groups were established: one treated with distilled water and one with the solvent (ethanol 50%). The present study aimed to evaluate the antibacterial and modulatory activity of the Turnera subulate methyl extract in isolation or in combination with aminoglycoside antibiotics, using the microdilution method. Mycophenolic acid (MPA) is a group of metabolite derived from several species of Penicillium, which shows potent bioactivity. In this study, a new derivative of MPA compound named penicacid D (1), was isolated from the marine derived fungus Penicillium sp. SCSIO sof101, along with seven known compounds (2-8). The aim of this study was to evaluate the antimicrobial potential of violacein (VIO) on Staphylococcus epidermidis biofilm. The minimum biofilm inhibition concentration (MBIC) and minimum biofilm eradication concentration (MBEC) were determined, as well as the effect of VIO exposure time on microbial viability in mature biofilm. Agareratum fastigiatum is a Brazilian medicinal plant used as anti-inflammaroty and for wound healing by the folk medicine. Rumex lunaria L. is a Canarian medicinal plant, belonging to Polygonaceae. The potential antidiabetic activity of the methanolic extract of the leaves was investigated. For this purpose, the inhibition of α-glucosidase and albumin glycation by the extract was studied. Further, the anti-radical activity and the phytochemical composition were detected. The reduction of α-glucosidase activity was significant from 3 µg/mL, while the BSA glycation inhibition started from 100 µg/mL. The effect of exogenous application of jasmonic acid (JA) on the concentration of main terpenes and density of glandular trichomes was investigated in the Mexican oregano, propagated from seeds from 3 localities. JA 1 mM was applied locally and to the whole plant. Folk medicine sometimes involves the use of salvia species for therapeutic purposes. Polyphenols with the highest amounts included rosmarinic acid (7.358mg/g), catechin (1.5 mg/g), vanillin (1.00 mg/g), chlorogenic acid (0.53 mg/g), quercetin (0.16 mg/g), and p-coumaric acid (0.015). Furthermore, the results showed that S. multicaulis has a high content of total phenol (4.39 mg/g) and DPPH activity (8.44 mg/g).
