The aim of this paper was to use chromatographic tools for validating an analytical method for the tacrolimus (TAC) determination in polymeric nanocapsules and for identifying the drug degradation products after alkaline stress. A rapid Ultra-High-Performance Liquid Chromatography coupled with photo-diode array (UHPLC-PDA) method was successfully performed using the following chromatographic conditions: the Shimadzu Shim-pack XR-ODS III C18 column (100 mm×2.00 mm, 2.2 μ m), the mobile phase consisting of methanol and acidified ultrapure water (89:11 v/v), the flow rate of 0...

Chitosan (CS), the only alkaline polysaccharose available in nature, has always been a promising candidate for drug delivery owing to its excellent biodegradability and biocompatibility. However, inherent solubility and polycationic properties of CS largely hinder electrospinning, which is an efficient method of fabricating nanofibers for drug carriers. To solve this problem and extend the applications of CS, polyamide/chitosan/tetraethyl orthosilicate (PA/CS/TEOS) composite nanofibers were successfully prepared as drug carriers in this study via electrospinning...

Bearings play a vital role in the operation of a two-axis system. Long-term bearing use inevitably produce bubbles and frictional damage. Therefore, the protection of bearings is critical for the stable operation of a two-axis system. In this study, a TiO₂ nanofilm is used to physically protect a bearing. The discretization method is used to analyse the cavitation process. Cavitation primarily occurs on the front surface of the pad during bearing operation. A finite element analysis of a bearing pad coated and not coated with TiO₂ nanofilms shows that TiO₂ nanofilms can effectively absorb the cavitation force exerted on pads, thereby reducing inflicted damage...

ScPO₄:Eu3+ , Tb3+ phosphors with tuned emission color were prepared through high temperature solid-state reaction. The structure, morphology and photoluminescence properties of the title samples were collected by XRD, SEM and fluorescence spectrophotometer, respectively. Co-doping Eu3+ and Tb3+ in ScPO₄ does not change the body-centered tetragonal structure of the host. And the morphology remains essentially unchanged except for slight agglomeration. Changing the ratio of Tb3+ /Eu3+ , the tuned emission can be achieved, the color could be adjusted from green through yellow to orange-red...

Recently, flexible electronic device technology has evolved beyond curved devices with the development of flexible/stretchable devices that can be crumpled or stretched. Both elasticity and durability are essential for these devices, which should have high-conductivity for antennas and repeatability for sensors. In addition, electronic-skins, which can have a direct impact on the human-body, should be harmless to the human-body and should not be deformed by contact with sweat or organic matter. In this study, PDMS substrates were used to satisfy the above conditions...

The usefulness of carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) as a matrix material in enhancing the controlled release formulations of bispyribac (BP) herbicide from the interlayer gallery of zinc hydroxide nitratesodium dodecylsulphate-bispyribac (ZHN-SDS-BP) nanocomposite was investigated. The CMC coated nanocomposite, ZHN-SDS-BP-CMC was characterised using several instruments for the determination of its physicochemical properties. The release rates of the BP were measured using a UV spectrophotometer, and the aqueous solutions containing PO3- ₄ , SO2- ₄ and Cl- were selected as release media in the release studies so as to mimic the real conditions of environmental soil...

Various Eu2+ -based Ca9 Nd(PO₄)7 (CNP:xEu2+ , with different x values) materials are prepared via facile solid-state reaction. Their crystal structures are investigated in detail by means of the Rietveld refinement. The structure of CNP:Eu2+ with a trigonal lattice is analogous to that of β -Ca₃(PO₄)₂. Therefore, Eu2+ ions tend to incorporate calcium sites in the host. All the obtained samples can be excited using near ultraviolet (nUV) light to present blue-green emission. An optimal dopant concentration is verified at x = 0...

Supercapacitor with high specific capacity is desirable for various energy storage and high powerdensity applications. Though Graphene has been the preferred material for high current density, nanocomposites have been attempted to increase the specific capacitance. Hydrothermal synthesis of cadmium sulfide/graphene (CdS/G) nanocomposite with CdS nanoparticles anchored/decorated over the graphene sheets is reported. The structural studies reveal the hexagonal phase of the prepared materials. The specific surface area (BET) and porosity is found to increase upon nanocomposite formation...

Widespread usage of pesticides in agricultural practice caused their residues to appear in water and food products intended for human consumption. The potential toxicity of these resources has raised awareness about pesticide tracking in the environment. Development of reliable electrochemical sensors for the on-site determination of pesticide concentrations is envisioned as an alternative to conventional chromatographic methods which are robust, expensive and require skilled work force. Modification of the working electrode surface can result in enhanced electrochemical response towards selected pesticide making such electrode convenient sensor for facile and efficient determination of pesticides in low concentrations...

As a fullerene derivative, IC70 BA is widely used in the ternary organic solar cells (TOSCs) to increase the open circuit voltage (Voc ) of the devices. Unfortunately, most of the literature shows that IC70 BA will lead to a reduction in the short-circuit current density (Jsc ) and fill factor (FF). In this work, IC70 BA is added to the PTB7:PC70 BM binary system to form the ternary system, which is composed of one donor and two fullerene acceptors. Surprisingly, the addition of IC70 BA does not immediately lead to a decrease in Jsc and FF...

The properties of the synthesized materials were characterized using X-Ray diffraction (XRD), Raman scattering, N₂ adsorption/desorption, and UV-Visible spectrophotometry (UV-Vis) methods et al. We investigated the heat dissipation in heterostructure field-effect transistors (HFETs) using microRaman measurement of the temperature in active AIGaN/GaN. By varying the gate structure, the heat dissipation through the gate was clearly revealed. The temperature increased to 120 °C at the flat gate device although the inserted gate increased to only 37 °C. Our results showed that the inserted gate structure reduced the self-heating effect by three times compared to the flat gate structure. Temperature mapping using micro-Raman measurement confirmed that the temperature of the near gate area was lower than that of the near drain area...
