In 2011, we reported good results after a mean follow-up of 14 months for a series of 25 patients who underwent thumb carpometacarpal osteoarthritis surgery in which a poly-L-lactic acid implant was interposed arthroscopically. Shoulder endoscopy is evolving and becoming extra-articular. More and more procedures are taking place in the area of the brachial plexus (BP). Ulnar nerve entrapment is the second most common compressive neuropathy after carpal tunnel syndrome. The accessory anconeus epitrochlearis muscle - present in 4% to 34% of the general population - is a known, but rare cause of ulnar nerve entrapment at the elbow. Thirty-eight hands in 36 patients with recurrent or persistent carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) were reviewed retrospectively after a mean of 51 months (range 12-86) to identify factors that may lead to poor outcomes after surgical management. Clinical assessment focused on pain and sensitivity recovery, measured with a VAS and Weber's two-point discrimination test, respectively. At the latest follow-up, we found 11 excellent, 15 good, nine fair and three poor results. Treatment of Madelung's deformity is still controversial. We reviewed retrospectively 19 patients with Madelung's deformity (two bilateral, 21 cases) who underwent surgery to the radius and ulna to improve range of motion, decrease pain and improve appearance of the wrist. The authors report the case of an iterative mobilization of a skin flap based on the first dorsal metacarpal artery. This flap was initially associated with a toe-to-hand transfer to provide adequate skin coverage in the reconstruction of a post-traumatic thumb defect in a 5-year-old child. Extranodal manifestations of lymphoma are well described in the literature and occur in 20 to 30% of patients. Skeletal muscle involvement is rare. Multiple metacarpal dislocations combined with carpal fracture - dislocations are rare injuries. We report a new combination of these injuries where fracture-dislocation of the base of the 1st metacarpal bone occurred simultaneously with a comminuted fracture of the trapezium, dislocation of the trapezoid and metacarpal joints (2nd to 5th) and an avulsion fracture of the hamate.
