The luminescence properties of erbium and yttrium co-doped cadmium difluoride with three different concentrations of yttrium were investigated. First, we synthesized single crystal samples with good optical quality using the Bridgman technique. From the optical absorption spectra, recorded at room temperature, both in the ultraviolet-visible and infrared spectral ranges, Judd-Ofelt analysis was performed based on yttrium concentrations to predict the radiative properties of Er3+ luminescent ions. For the 10% optimum concentration of yttrium, a detailed photoluminescence investigation was carried out...

A lanthanide complex based on europium (Eu) and chelidamic acid was synthesized (Eu-CHE) and characterized. The complex Eu-CHE exhibited intense luminescence at 615 nm under excitation at 300 nm and was further investigated for highly sensitive turn-off detection of l-kynurenine (l-kyn), a cancer biomarker. The probe detected l-kyn linearly from 6 nM to 0.2 μM with a limit of detection and limit of quantification of 1.37 and 4.57 nM, respectively. The probe was investigated for selectivity towards l-kyn among co-existing amino acids and further extended for detecting l-kyn from human serum and urine samples...

In the present study, a first validated and green spectrofluorimetric approach for its assessment and evaluation in different matrices was investigated. After using an excitation wavelength of 345 nm, Roxadustat (ROX) demonstrates a highly native fluorescence at an emission of 410 nm. The influences of experimental factors such as pH, diluting solvents, and different organized media were tested, and the most appropriate solvent choice was ethanol. It was confirmed that there was a linear relationship between the concentration of ROX and the relative fluorescence intensity in the range 60...

In recent trends, radiation falls under the narrowband ultraviolet-B region (305-315 nm) widely used in phototherapy lamp applications in the treatment of skin diseases. In this paper, we report a Gd3+ -doped NaYF4 luminescent material synthesized for the first time using the low-temperature co-precipitation method. It crystallized into a face-centred cubic structure, as confirmed by X-ray diffraction characterization techniques and Rietveld refinement. The photoluminescence property of the as-prepared sample shows a highly intense, sharp emission band obtained at 311 nm, which belongs to the narrowband ultraviolet-B region and corresponds to the transition of the 6 P7/2 →8 S7/2 level of the Gd3+ ions under 272 nm excitation (8 S7/2 to 6 IJ )...

The predominant method for pest control has been the use of pesticides, which have been shown to have detrimental effects on soil, freshwater, and crop quality. Therefore, the development of novel and sustainable crop protection strategies has become increasingly imperative. In this study, a novel orange-red emitting Ba2 SrWO6 : Sm3+ phosphor was synthesized using the high-temperature solid-state reaction. Under ultraviolet excitation, the phosphors showed obvious emission peaks at 575, 614, and 662 nm...

Simultaneously improving the stability and photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) of all inorganic perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) is crucial for their practical utilization in various optoelectronic devices. Here, CsPbBr3 NCs coated with polyethersulfone (PES) were prepared via an in-situ co-precipitation method. The sulfone groups in PES bind to undercoordinated lead ion (Pb2+ ) on the CsPbBr3 NCs, resulting in significant reduction of surface defects, thus enhancing the PLQY from 74.2% to 88.3%. Meanwhile, the PES-coated NCs exhibit high water resistance and excellent heat and light stability, maintaining over 85% of the initial PL intensity under thermal aging (70°C, 4 h) and continuous 365 nm ultraviolet (UV) light irradiation (24 W, 8 h) conditions...

Therefore, its detection and degradation are of paramount importance to the scientific community. In the present contribution, we have introduced a chromo-fluorogenic pyrene-based  probe, (E)-2-methoxy-3-(pyren-1-ylimino)-3,8a-dihydro-2H-chromen-4-ol (PMCO) to detect sarin stimulant diethylchlorophosphate (DCP) in solution and gaseous phases. In this work, a near-infrared emissive photosensitizer of 3,3-dimethyl-N,N-diphenyl-2-(thiophen-2-yl)-3H-indol-6-amine functionlized benzothiazolium (DPITT) was developed. DPITT exhibited aggregation-induced emission effect and potent type I and II reactive oxygen species generation capacities after white light irradiation. Taking advantage of the cationic feature, DPITT penetrated the cell membrane and selectively accumulated in the mitochondria in living cells. Upon white light irradiation, the photosensitized DPITT was able to induce mitochondrial dysfunction, leading to cell death...

The effect of optical radiation during the phase transition from the amorphous to the crystalline state of matter was investigated for the first time. The results were obtained on nanoscale films of (LiF)x (Li2 B4 O7 )1-x compositions by sputtering on cold Ni substrates. The starting materials for films were chosen due to their wide use for tissue-equivalent ionizing radiation dosimetry. It is shown that the detected thermoluminescence effect is sensitive to the thickness of the films. The paper compares the results of these studies with the study of the thermoluminescence characteristics of films irradiated by an M-30 microtron with bremsstrahlung radiation with a maximum energy of 6 MeV...
