Job burnout is highly prevalent among health care workers. This study determined the effect of job burnout on decision-making and coping with stress among nurses. Two hundred seventy-seven nurses in Xijing Hospital were investigated using the Job Burnout Scale, Decision Scale, and Simple Stress Coping Style Scale. The total score of job burnout was 107.8 ± 16.479 (severe burnout) and clinical decision-making consciousness was 123.75 ± 16.094 (moderate decision-making consciousness). The aim of this anonymous online study was to explore the yoga practice of breast cancer survivors to determine if yoga dosage (frequency and duration of practice) was related to stress, anxiety, and self-reported health in female survivors. Participants were recruited from online breast cancer support groups during a 3-month period (June-September 2019). Demographic information, stage and treatment of breast cancer, and frequency of yoga participation, including a home yoga practice were reported. Measures include the Perceived Stress Scale, State-Trait Anxiety Inventory, and self-reported health...

This study evaluated the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine-based therapeutic acupuncture (TA) in reducing the severity of hot flashes (HFs) in breast cancer patients and compared the effectiveness of TA to "sham" placebo acupuncture (SA). Subjects experiencing more than 10 episodes of HF/week were randomly assigned to TA or SA. The response was assessed by the Menopause-specific Quality of Life (MenQoL) scale, scoring the subject's perception of the severity of HFs. HFs were scored at baseline, after treatment, and 1-month follow-up...

Yin-yang theorizes that everything in the world is interoppositionally unified with 2 dynamic opposites (yin and yang), interrooted, interchangeable, and interconvertible. Tai chi (TC) movements and postures are essentially yin-yang concept-based. However, there is still a lack of understanding of yin-yang concepts and applications among people practicing TC. So, in this concept review, we aimed to provide basic understanding of the yin-yang concept and characteristics behind TC practice. Terms derived from the yin-yang concept in TC practice may include blood/qi (energy), stability/mobility, closing/opening moves, expiration/inspiration, solid/empty stance, and defensive/offensive hand movements and postures...

Psychological problems among nursing students are well documented. Unfortunately, only a minority of these populations seek help related to their psychological distress. Yoga exercises improve individuals' psychological distress and cardiovascular outcomes. Therefore, we conducted this study to test the feasibility and preliminary efficacy of our health promotion theme-based yoga program to reduce the participants' stress levels and anxiety symptoms and improve their blood pressure and heart rate. This study has a pre/posttest quasi-experimental design...

The creation of a systematic review protocol and the writing of the article were based on the PRISMA-P (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols) criteria. The literature review was carried out in PubMed, Scopus, and Cochrane Library databases. Seven experimental and quasi-experimental studies met the inclusion criteria, and a total of 572 patients with cancer with sample sizes ranging from 18 to 180 were included...

Hypertension (HTN) is a major health care problem affecting nearly half of American's adult population. HTN is one of the costliest diagnoses among cardiovascular disease and leads to other major cardiovascular complications, which increase overall morbidity and mortality. Of those diagnosed with HTN in America, only one-fourth of patients are living with well-controlled HTN. This evidenced-based HTN management practice innovation was conducted to explore evidenced-based, holistic nursing practice of a low-sodium dietary approach to stop hypertension (DASH) diet, and exercise alongside antihypertensive medication management in decreasing systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) in adult patients diagnosed with HTN...

The intervention group received weekly online mindfulness-based stress reduction training for 8 weeks. The Subjective Well-being, Job Burnout, and Psychological Use scales were administered pre- and postintervention...
