Artificial light and power frequency magnetic fields are ubiquitous in the built environment. Light is a potent zeitgeber but it is unclear whether power frequency magnetic fields can influence circadian rhythm control. To study this possibility, 8-12-week-old male C57BL/6J mice were exposed for 30 min starting at zeitgeber time 14 (ZT14, 2 h into the dark period of the day) to 50 Hz magnetic fields at 580 μT using a pair of Helmholtz coils and/or a blue LED light at 700 lux or neither. The influence of tissue compression and external thermal modulation on passive detection of breast tumors using medical microwave radiometry was investigated using multi-physics numerical modeling. A polysaccharide of Irpex lacteus, a white-rot fungus with lignocellulose-degrading activities, has been used as a commercial medicine for nephritis treatment. Previously, a low-intensity electromagnetic field (LI-EMF) was found to increase the biomass and polysaccharide content of Irpex lacteus and induce twists on the cell surface. In this study, RNA-sequencing (RNA-seq) technology was used to analyze the underlying mechanism of LI-EMF's influence on Irpex lacteus. The purpose of the study involves measuring the threshold for electric currents (i.e., current perception threshold or CPT) under several stimulating current frequencies. Specifically, current perception threshold (CPT) was measured in 53 healthy volunteers between the ages of 21 and 67. The stimulation currents were applied on the right index finger with stimulus frequencies in the range of 50 Hz - 300 kHz. The method of limits and method of constant stimuli were combined to measure the CPT.
