The successful fabrication is reported of highly crystalline Co nanoparticles interconnected with zeolitic imidazolate framework (ZIF-12) -based amorphous porous carbon using the molten-salt-assisted approach utilizing NaCl. Single crystal diffractometers (XRD), and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) analyses confirm the codoped amorphous carbon structure. Crystallite size was calculated by Scherrer (34 nm) and Williamson-Hall models (42 nm). The magnetic properties of NPCS (N-doped porous carbon sheet) were studied using a vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM)...

Recently, covalent organic frameworks have gained popularity in sample pretreatment. However, the application of covalent organic frameworks in the enrichment of hydrophilic compounds remains a challenge. Thus, a functionalized magnetic covalent organic framework equipped with amino groups was constructed using a bottom-up functionalization strategy. Considering the advantages of this novel adsorbent such as high porosity, large adsorption capacity, and hydrophilic surface, a sensitive magnetic solid-phase extraction coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method was established for the effective determination of neonicotinoids...

Hydroxypropyl chitosan-Cs3 Bi2 Cl9 perovskite quantum dots (HPCS-PQDs) were synthesized by a simple ligand-assisted reprecipitation method via green hydroxypropyl chitosan as the ligand and used as the specific signal of a fluorescence probe to achieve the highly sensitive detection of hexavalent chromium (Cr(VI)) and compared with chitosan-Cs3 Bi2 Cl9 QDs (CS-PQDs). HPCS-PQDs with multiple active hydroxyl passivations were found to enhance the photoluminescence quantum yield (PLQY) by 90%. After being placed in aqueous solution and irradiated with ultraviolet light for 96 h the fluorescence intensity of HPCS-PQDs remained above 60%...

An electrochemical sensor for detecting ketoprofen was constructed by in-situ grown copper cobaltate (CuCo2 O4 ) nanoneedle arrays on a carbon cloth (CC) substrate. The resulting porous nanoneedle arrays not only expose numerous electrochemically active sites but also significantly enhance the electrochemical apparent active area and current transmission efficiency. By leveraging its electrochemical properties, the sensor achieves an impressive detection limit for ketoprofen of 0.7 pM, with a linear range spanning from 2 pM ~ 2 µM...

Strontium-90 (90 Sr) is a major radioactive component that has attracted great attention, but its detection remains challenging since there are no specific energy rays indicative of its presence. Herein, a biosensor that is capable of rapidly detecting Sr2+ ions is demonstrated. Simple colorimetric method for sensitive detection of Sr2+ with the help of single-stranded DNA was developed by preparing MnO2 nanorods as oxidase mimic catalysis 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB). Under weakly acidic conditions, MnO2 exhibited a strong oxidase-mimicking activity to oxidize colorless TMB into blue oxidation products (oxTMB) with discernible absorbance signals...

An efficient and innovative electrochemiluminescence (ECL) sensor was developed for trace detection of cyfluthrin. The sensor utilized materials such as lotus root shaped carbon fiber (Co CNFs), cadmium selenide quantum dots (CdSe QDs), and Fe3 O4 to amplify Ru(bpy)3 2+ signals. Co CNFs, with its large specific surface area and porosity, served the purpose of not only enhancing the stability of the sensor by fixing CdSe QDs and Ru(bpy)3 2+ on the Co CNFs/GCE, but also facilitating electron transfer. CdSe QDs was involved in the luminescence reaction and collaborated with Ru(bpy)3 2+ to enhance the sensor's sensitivity, while Fe3 O4 promoted electron transfer in the system due to its large surface area...

Chiral self-assembly is the spontaneous organization of individual building blocks from chiral (bio)molecules to macroscopic objects into ordered superstructures. Chiral self-assembly is ubiquitous in nature, such as DNA and proteins, which formed the foundation of biological structures. In addition to chiral (bio) molecules, chiral ordered superstructures constructed by self-assembly have also attracted much attention. Chiral self-assembly usually refers to the process of forming chiral aggregates in an ordered arrangement under various non-covalent bonding such as H-bond, π-π interactions, van der Waals forces (dipole-dipole, electrostatic effects, etc...
