The cycloplatinated(IV) complexes trans -[Pt( p -MeC6 H4 )(C∧ N)(OAc)2 (H2 O)] (C∧ N = benzo[h]quinolate, bhq, 2a , and 2-phenylpyridinate, ppy, 2b ) were prepared by reacting the corresponding [Pt( p -MeC6 H4 )(C∧ N)(SMe2 )] precursors with PhI(OAc)2 through an oxidative addition (OA) reaction. Thermolysis of 2a at 65 °C generates cis -[Pt(κ1 N-10-( p -MeC6 H4 )-bhq)(OAc)2 (H2 O)], 3a , which is the product of a Csp2 Ar -Csp2 bhq reductive elimination (RE). The observed coupling reaction is significantly different from the previously reported analogous thermolysis of trans -[PtMe(C∧ N)(OAc)2 (H2 O)] (C∧ N = bhq, 2c , and ppy, 2d ) that selectively releases Me-OAc (C-O RE)...

High-entropy oxides are a new type of material with significant application potential. However, the lack of a universal HEO preparation method severely limits the property study and application of HEOs. Herein, we report a universal approach of spray pyrolysis for the preparation of various HEOs and study the electrocatalytic performance of HEOs toward the oxygen evolution reaction. A remarkable increase in the luminescent intensity of Er3+ -doped CaF2 up-conversion phosphors was achieved, showing an approximate enhancement of over 1100-fold. This enhancement was realized by incorporating Yb3+ , Al3+ , Sr2+ , and gold nanospheres and nanorods. The substantial improvement in up-converting luminescence effectively enhances sensitivity and efficiency at low excitation power densities. This report describes the synthesis and characterization of two hetero bi metallic Li-Zn coordination isomers [Li2 Zn2 (tbaoac)6 ] (tbaoac = tert -butyl acetoacetato) that have been isolated separately by the same stoichiometric reaction run in different organic solvents. The 6-coordinated zinc isomer ( 6-Zn ) was synthesized in acetone with high yield, while the 5-coordinated one ( 5-Zn ) was readily obtained from ethanol. The current study describes a new family of hybrid dimers constructed from secondary building blocks based on a dichromium-substituted silicodecatungstate, {SiW10 Cr2 }, and flexible dicarboxylate ligands of varied lengths. Two novel quaternary oxyarsenides, Eu8 Zn2 As6 O and Eu14 Zn5 As12 O, were synthesized through metal flux reactions, and their crystal structures were established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction methods. Eu8 Zn2 As6 O crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca , featuring polyanionic ribbons composed of corner-shared triangular [ZnAs3 ] units, running along the [100] direction.
