REVIEW
Nanette Santoro
The technological necessity that has driven the field of ovarian tissue cryopreservation arose from the urgency of saving the reproductive potential of children with cancer facing gonadotoxic therapies. The field has expanded rapidly, with many centers offering this service, yet there are few outcomes reported because of the time lag between tissue freezing and its utilization. Questions about the best practices for patient selection, the best techniques for freezing and thawing, and the large loss of oocytes that accompanies the freezing and thawing process remain...

OBJECTIVE: To understand how the Donor Conception Identity Questionnaire (DCIQ) correlates with mental health and explore differences on the DCIQ between donor conceived people who were actively searching for donor connections to those who were not and those who had found their donor connections to those who had not. DESIGN: Cross sectional survey. SUBJECTS: 88 donor conceived adults ranging in age from 18 to 70 (Mean = 34.27 years, median = 31 years)...

Abigail Mercier, Joshua Johnson, Amanda N Kallen
Birth rates continue to decline as more women experience fertility issues. Assisted reproductive technologies are available for patients seeking fertility treatment, including cryopreservation techniques. Cryopreservation can be performed on gametes, embryos, or gonadal tissue and can be used for patients who desire to delay in vitro fertilization treatment. This review focuses on ovarian tissue cryopreservation, the freezing of ovarian cortex containing immature follicles. Ovarian tissue cryopreservation is the only available treatment for the restoration of ovarian function in patients who undergo gonadotoxic treatments, and its wide adoption has led to its recent designation as "no longer experimental" by the American Society for Reproductive Medicine...

OBJECTIVE: Evaluate associations between preconception 25-hydroxyvitamin D (25(OH)D) and biomarkers in female and male partners on live birth, pregnancy loss, and semen quality. DESIGN AND SUBJECTS: Secondary analysis using the FAZST trial of couples seeking infertility treatment at 4 US centers (2013-2017). A target trial emulation framework was applied to estimate associations. Couples were followed for nine months or through pregnancy. EXPOSURES: Preconception concentrations of 25(OH)D (primary) and associated biomarkers: vitamin D binding protein (VDBP), calcium, free vitamin D, bioavailable vitamin D...

IMPORTANCE: PGT-A to deselect aneuploid embryos in ART cycles may hold promise by augmenting pregnancy rates per transfer and reducing pregnancy loss rates for patients with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss. OBJECTIVE: To explore effectiveness of PGT-A in managing unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss by evaluating several key aspects: (i) the likelihood of a live birth in a subsequent spontaneous pregnancy, (ii) whether women with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss have higher rate of aneuploidy, (iii) whether euploid blastocysts offer comparable live birth rate in patients with unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss, (iv) whether the endometrium is less selective in unexplained recurrent pregnancy loss, and (v) whether PGT-A increases live birth rate or reduces pregnancy losses until delivery...

OBJECTIVE: To determine whether we can safely and successfully transplant an ovary tissue allograft from a non-identical donor to her Turner syndrome sister. DESIGN: Transplantation of cryopreserved ovary tissue, as well as fresh transplantation of ovarian tissue between identical twins, is now well established with numerous reported successful cases. However there have not yet been any ovary transplants between non-identical women requiring immunosuppression (ovary allotransplant)...

IMPORTANCE: Findings from several high-profile meta-analyses have raised concerns about an ongoing global decline in sperm concentration and male fertility. However, these studies exhibit considerable heterogeneity in key variables including study population, methodology, fertility status, and geographic region.
